Getting Started
I f you make a mistake or enter a wrong setting during initial setup, just
continue with the rest of the initial setup. D uring initial setup, you cannot
change settings after you press the
Amount Tend Total <Enter>
key. W hen
you complete the initial setup, you can correct any setting by following the
instructions listed in this manual.
M ake sure that you plug the cash register into the electrical outlet before
you put in the batteries.
A fter you get the cash register ready to use, the 5-line L C D screen prompts
you through the rest of the set up. U se the
Up
and
Down
arrow keys to
move through the items on the screen.
Note
If you make a mistake while you are programming, press the
Clear
key.
To get the cash register ready to use

R emove the cash register and the parts from the box. Store the box and
packing material in a safe, dry place. I f you need to move the register in
the future, you can put it back in the box.

R emove the tape holding the parts of the cash register in place. For
example, there may be tape on the Journal C ompartment C over.
Put the register on a hard, level surface, away from rain and spilled
drinks. A hard, level surface makes it easier for the cash drawer to go in
and out smoothly.
D o not put the register on a porous surface. D epending on the surface or
any cleaning solution used on the surface, the rubber feet may leave
marks on the surface. D o not place the register on any valuable surface,
such as antique or fine wood tables, desks, and so on.

Plug the cash register into a grounded three-hole electrical wall outlet.
(115-120 volt, 60 hertz). M ake sure the electrical cord is not going to be
tripped over or accidentally pulled from the electrical outlet.
Put the cash register on an electrical circuit with no other electrical
device or appliance. O ther appliances can overload the circuit or cause
electrical interference with the cash register. I t is best that you use a
circuit without other appliances already on it.
N ow follow the prompts on the screen. T he rest of this chapter explains
the setup options.
Caution
If you put the batteries in first, they can damage the cash register.
Do not use this cash register outdoors in the rain or near any source of
liquid.
