With the connectors facing the server, slide the new drives into the slots in the server.

Push the bay doors closed to secure the drives in the server.
With the new media drive installed you can reconnect power to the server and turn it on. Use the
Disk
Management
utility in Windows
®
to format the new drive (if required) and assign it drive letter H. A
folder named
Video
must be located at the root directory of the media drive.
To Mount the New Disks
When you install new drives into the server, you must configure them in Windows
®
for them to be
available to the server.
1.
Open
Disk Management
utility.
2.
Click
Action
and then click
Rescan Disks
.
3.
Right-click any disk marked Foreign, click
Import Foreign Disks
, and then follow the instructions
on your screen.
Note:
Ensure that Foreign disk group is selected.
4.
If the new mirrored drive is not marked as drive
H:
, right-click on the drive and click
Change Drive
Letter and Paths...
, and then follow the instructions on your screen.
An
AutoPlay
dialog box may appear after you are done mounting the new drives. Cancel (
X
) the dialog.
The new drives are now ready to use.
