Selecting the Flash Mode
The flash is designed to function automatically when lighting conditions warrant the use of
flash. You can take an image using a flash mode suitable to your circumstances.
The effective flash firing distance is about 0.5m to 4.4m (wide, ISO400).
The setting still remains after the power is turned OFF manually or by auto power OFF.
1. Rotate the mode dial to either [
] record mode or
[
] manual record mode.
In the [
] record mode, it is possible to set the
flash if the scene mode is set to [
AUTO
].
Flash settings may be limited depending on the
scene mode.
2. Press the flash open button to open the flash.
3. Press the flash button to set the desired mode while
viewing on screen.
When scene mode is set to [
AUTO
] in [
] record
mode. The modes appear cyclically:

] Auto
[
] Red-eye Reduction
[ ] Forced Flash
[
] Suppressed Flash
[
] Slow Sync.
When scene mode is set to [
] manual reocrd
mode. The modes appear cyclically:

4. Compose your image, press the shutter button down
halfway and then fully down.
When the shutter button is pressed halfway down
when the flash fires, the flash icon on screen will be
displayed in yellow.
The flash is limited to certain set modes.
