2.2 Connecting to a UMS100/120
There can be several connections to UMS100/120 in a LAN/WAN network. For dial-up networking, this
is restricted to the number of previous modems for outgoing connections.
However, you can only activate one connection from ARGUS. An active connection is necessary to
perform direct measurements (DMMs) or define automatic measurements (AMMs). If you need to
activate another connection it will be declined if there are any control windows still open. Otherwise an
activated connection will be disconnected.
Therefore the
Select
window contains the buttons <Connect> as well as <Connect and Activate>.
Depending on the type of connection, setting up the UMS100/120 connection takes up to one minute.
During this time a corresponding window appears. For dial-up networking the

If a connection to a UMS100/120 is set up for the first time, the configuration is not available on the
control PC. Therefore, a window appears while the system is setting up the connection and informs you
of a "mismatch" in the configuration. Then the configuration is automatically loaded. The reception
procedure can take up to one minute for slower connections. Once the transfer is successfully
completed, press <OK> to quit.

The configuration between the control PC and the UMS100/120 is now coordinated.
