FAMILY CONDENS KIS - FAMILY CONDENS IS
FAMILY CONDENS KIS - FIRST COMMISSIONING
- Adjust
the ambient thermostat to the desired temperature (~20°C) or, if
the system is equipped with a programmable thermostat or timer, make
sure it is “active” and adjusted (~20°C)
- Every time the boiler is powered, an automatic bleed cycle begins and
lasts for about 2 minutes.
43 and
are simultaneously displayed.
Press the key to interrupt the automatic bleed cycle (Fig. 3).
- When powered, the boiler performs a sequence of checks, and a series
of numbers and letters will appear on the display, after which it will go into
standby.
The boiler switches back on in the status it held before switch-off.
If the boiler is in the heating mode when it is turned off, it turns back on in
the same mode; if it is OFF, the display will show ENERGY FOR LIFE.
- Press the key (Fig. 3) to start operation.
- Press the key and turn the encoder A to select the desired heating
water temperature (Fig. 4).
The large digits will light on the display indicating the temperature cho
-
sen.
Adjusting the heating temperature with an external probe connected
If an external probe is present, the delivery temperature is automatically
selected by the system, which adjusts the ambient temperature according
to variations in the outside temperature.
The external probe present icon is displayed and a central segment only is
lit on the heating indicator.
Proceed as follows to modify the temperature, increasing or decreasing it
compared to that calculated automatically by the electronic card:
- press the heating temperature control key (Fig. 5), the number cor
-
responding to the set level of comfort appears on the two digits (factory
setting).
- turn the encoder A to raise or lower the chosen comfort level (1,
+2 etc.. or -1, -2 etc. appears on the two digits B, corresponding to the
chosen comfort level) (Fig. 5).
The segment lit on the heating indicator will rise or lower.
The temperature correction range is between -5 and +5 comfort levels.
These corrections are very important in spring and autumn where the value
calculated from the curve may be too low and therefore the regulation time
of the environment too long.
The value is automatically memorised 3 seconds after the last modification
and the value instantaneously detected by the probe is displayed again.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE DOMESTIC HOT WATER TEMPERATURE
-
Press the
key and turn the encoder A in order to select the desired
DHW temperature (Fig. 6).
The large digits will light on the display indicating the temperature cho
-
sen.
After a few seconds the display will again show the actual outlet tempera
-
ture measured by the boiler probe.
OPERATION
-
Press the
key to select the operating mode (Fig. 7).
Depending on the operating mode selected, the display will show the
DHW indicator only (heating mode off), or both indicators (heating
mode on).
The following conditions may occur:
- if there is no heat request the boiler will be in “standby”
- if there is a heat request the boiler starts and one of the flames ignites
depending on the type of request.
The display indicates the boiler temperature or the domestic hot water
temperature if the ignition is due to a request of DHW.
The
Family Condens
boiler will continue to function until the adjusted tem-
peratures are reached, after which it will be in “standby”.
If ignition or operational faults arise, the boiler performs a “safety stop”: a
flashing code is displayed and the RESET and
icons will appear simul-
taneously or not. For a description of the anomaly and to restore the start
conditions, refer to paragraph “Display and fault codes”.
TEMPORARY SWITCH-OFF
In case of temporary absences, weekends, short trips, etc.:
press
(Fig. 8). The wording “ENERGY FOR LIFE” and the antifreeze
icon are displayed.
In this way (leaving the electricity and fuel supplies enabled), the
boiler is protected by the following systems:
- Antifreeze: when the temperature of the water in the boiler falls below
7°C, the circulator and, if necessary, the burner are activated at minimum
output levels to bring the water temperature back to the safety values
(35°C).
The flashing icon is displayed indicating that the antifreeze function
is on.
- Circulator antiblocking: an operation cycle is activated every 24 hours.
LONG TERM SWITCHING OFF
The long term non use of the
Family Condens
boiler causes the execution
of the following operations:
- press
(Fig. 8). The wording “ENERGY FOR LIFE” and the antifreeze
icon are displayed.
- turn off the system general switch
- Close the fuel and water taps of the heating and domestic hot water sys
-
tem
In this case, the anti-freeze and anti-blocking systems are deacti
-
vated.
Drain the heating and domestic hot water systems to prevent
freezing.
COMFORT KEY
Pressing the key the Comfort function activates and the corresponding
icon is displayed (Fig. 9).
Pressing the
key, the domestic hot water is supplied at the ideal tempera-
ture for the shower. Temperature is set at 40°C as standard.
THE Comfort temperature can be personalised from 35 °C to 45 °C by steps
of 0.5 ° C. To modify this temperature, after having selected the function,
press key
, and turn the encoder A (Fig. 6).
The set temperature is displayed.
The Comfort function avoids having to find the right mix of hot and cold
water to obtain the ideal temperature for the shower.
Note
The value chosen is stored by the boiler so that next time the Comfort key
is selected the boiler is ready to provide water at the desired temperature.
MEMORY KEY
Press the
key (Fig. 10) to activate the Memory function, and to display
the corresponding icon.
The Memory function simultaneously activates a double electronic intelli-
gence:
- DHW intelligence
- heating intelligence
DHW Memory
Activating the Memory key, the machine intelligence begins to store the
user’s usage habits. After one week, the memory function will have learned
the habits in terms of domestic hot water use and will therefore be able to
preheat it for each single demand. Preheating is carried out in the half hour
prior to demand on the day and time stored the previous week.
Example
There is a demand for DHW on Thursday 15th at 7.00.
The boiler will preheat the DHW at 6.30 of the following Thursday 22.
The user will thereby find the water already at the desired temperature
when demanding hot water at 7.00.
If the water needs to be preheated outside the usual habits, use the Touch
& Go function.
If there is no power supply to the boiler, the memorised data of this
function are lost. When the power supply is restored, the Memory
function starts to memorise the habits from the beginning. It follows
that in order to take advantage of the Memory function a week must
pass.
Heating Memory
By activating the Memory key, the boiler takes into account the time that
elapses from the ignition and increases the memorised output temperature
by 5° C after 10 minutes.
The Memory repeats the cycle until the ambient temperature set on the
thermostat is reached or until the maximum permissible temperature is
reached.
With this automatic function, lower output temperatures can be selected
and at the same time set up times of the environment can be lowered.
H.T.C. system
When adjusting the heating from the minimum value of 20° C to the maxi
-
mum of 80° C the area displayed is that in which the H.T.C. system is active:
Heating Temperature Control (from 55°C to 65°C) (Fig. 11).
The H.T.C. system independently manages the outlet temperature adapting
the operation to the actual needs of the home.
When the heat requirement is prolonged, the outlet temperature increases
allowing for a more rapid heating of the environment.
Once the desired comfort level is reached, the system changes the outlet
temperature to the value initially set.
This guarantees less consumption, less scale formation in the boiler and
less temperature changes in the radiators.
