RN.302.LO Output Redundancy
The RN.302.LO supports output redundancy. This feature enables the feed of a P ower Amp or self
powered speaker input from two individual RN.302.LO devices by means of a XLR Y-cable.
To enable the output redundancy feature activat e the OPEN function by using the hidden OPEN
switch (please see picture below). An activated OPEN function is indicated by the OPE N LE D under-
neath the related output XLR connector.
The related output channels of the two RN.302.LO that are OPEN activated need to be set to the
same Quad number in order to send the same out put signal to the amplifier.
In order to obt ain the same volume in case of switchover the CLIP LEVEL setting of the used channels
need to be set to the same value.
Example:
Assign right–hand Quad number 17 to bot h RN.302.LO. Activate the OPEN function at all outputs of
the related Quad. Set CLIP LEVEL to t he s ame value. Connect one of the output channels (needs to
be the same on both RN.302.LO) to the input of t he power amplifier or self-powered speaker via an
XLR Y-c able. In c ase one of t he RN.302.LO would completely fail the second RN.302.LO feeds the
amplifier with the same signal. There will be no loss of audio and there will be no artifacts.
