Error Handling
Quad Assignment Errors
In case a network is put together of devic es that have already been stand alone configured or come
from different net works it can happen that the same input Quad number exists several times in t he
new net work. In this case an error message will indicate the miss-assigned Quad numbers by toggling
the respective displays between
Er
Er
Er
Er
and the affected Quad number, e.g.
01
01
01
01
.
This is also true for Quad assignment errors that are caused by setting the network to 80 channel
mode. Any assigned Quads above 20 whether they are input (ADD) or output (DROP) Quads will be
displayed as errors like described above.
To quickly null the affected Quads push and hold the buttons underneath the respective display until
the error indication stops flashing and s hows two horizontal bars (

). Now these Quads can be reas-
sign to available Quad numbers. In order to do so, please follow the instructions above.
This mechanism also works for RN.341.MY interface cards. Since this product has only a single digit
display the entire display flas hes to indicate an affected Quad miss assignment. To change the routing
of the RN.341.MY interface card RockWorks is required and the Edit Preset Window needs to be
opened.
In case of input Quad assignment errors the affected Quads are not only indicated but are also mut ed
in order not to generate any dat a conflict on the network.
Sync Setting Errors
In cas e a net work is put together of different network parts which have already been configured it can
happen that two or more Primary or Secondary Sync Master are configured.
This does not cause any audio interruption nor does it result in a non operational network.
This type of error is displayed in a way that the affected products show

flashing in the left hand display where in default mode the Device ID is displayed.
In case an RN.341.MY interface card is affected the single digit display flashes.
