MM PWB
CPU
Based on the 24MHz signal of the quartz crystal oscillator (X ’Tal), IC9201 operates with the main
CPU clock signal of [800MHz] in the internal PLL circuit. In combination with an external IC, it
performs a variety of tasks such as USB function, wired LAN processing, wireless LAN image
and video file playback processing, video signal output processing, audio signal output
processing, and time display (RTC) processing.
The basic OS is [WindowsCE6.0 R3]. The firmware is stored in the NAND-Flash (IC402). Values
of the network, etc., set with the MM PWB by the user are also saved in IC9402.
The DDR2 memory (IC9401,IC9403) operates with the clock signal of 200MHz from the CPU.
The internal processing rate is 400MHz.
In regard to USB processing, signals are converted into the USB signals (D+,D-) through the
connections of USB-PHY (IC9602) and ULPI. As a result, two USB signal systems are available
with USB-HUB (IC9604). The first system is used for external USB terminals and the second
system is used as a USB terminal to be connected to the wireless LAN unit. The Hi-Side SW
(IC9605) is used as an overcurrent protection circuit for the USB.
For LAN Processing, the LAN-PHY (IC9603) and the MII-I/F are connected, and further with the
RJ-45 terminal.
The CPU generates the video signal output from the POMM2 connector to the Main PWB. These
signals are in digital mode of RGB, 8-bit each.
The CPU is started with a clock signal of 32.768kHz generated from the PMIC (IC9008). After the
firmware has been started, the externally mounted 24MHz quartz crystal oscillator (X’tal:X9201)
begins to operate for oscillation.
In addition to external terminal control, the CPU is provided with the internal communication
devices (inter-IC communication, inter-PWB communication) specified below.
