PW-C950 Block (A/D, Video Decoder,
CPU, Scaler, Closed Caption)
The PW-C950 (IC3001) is an LSI where the video signal pickup A/D, the video decoder, the CPU, the video signal processor circuit, the
OSD generator and multiplex circuits, the USB Host & Device, the Ethernet, the circuits of peripheral functions (I
2
C bus, Slow ADC, Slow
DAC, UART, GPIO), and others are assembled in one. It is in charge of a variety of video signal processing and projector controls such as
signal pickup and detection, resolution conversion, keystone correction, frame rate conversion, OSD output generation, and others.
The programs working on the CPU and the factory adjustment data are stored in the 256Mbit Flash ROM (IC4001). The user setup data,
the lamp/set operating time, and others are stored in the 64KBbit EEPROM (IC4002) when a menu settting is changed. At the time of
ordinary operation, therefore, the 256Mbit Flash ROM does not cause any writing operation (read only).
Based on the function of the 27MHz oscillator (crystal), IC3001 generates three types of signals, i.e.the main CPU clock signal [200MHz]
in the internal PLL circuit, the clock signal for the DDR2 memory [180MHz], and the clock signals for video processing [68MHz]. The video
processing clock signals are used in the state that they are diffused by
±
1.0% by virtue of an internal diffusion function.
To obtain the USB clock signals, a 48MHz oscillator (crystal) is accommodated.
The outlined processing flow in IC3001 is as specified below.

*The deinterlacer is used only for the component signals (480i/576i/1080i) of the Video/S-Video system.
For the HDMI digital signals, the ADC is not used, but a digital video input is directly entered.
The 10-bit x 3 video signal output of IC3001 is entered in the CXD3548GB (IC5005), L3E7111E0A (IC7004).
The digital zoom function is generated by H/V scaling processing of IC3001. Also, the Closed Caption function is generated by the soft
decode processing of the Video Decode block, IC3001.
In addition to the video processing functions, the PW-C950 is also provided with the peripheral functions (I
2
C bus, Slow ADC, Slow DAC,
UART, GPIO).

C bus for 2 systems
System 1 is in charge of EEPROM control, used at the Audio processor IC, SUB CPU.
System 2 is used for the HDMI IC, Audio DAC, and the acceleration sensor.
System 1 is normally in service and System 2 is operated only if the main power is ON.

Slow ADC 7 systems
Used for 4 systems of thermal sensor input,lens cover detection,pre-cool circuit, and fan voltage detection.

Slow DAC 3 ~5 systems
Used for fan voltage control (3~5 systems).

UART 2 systems
Used for the PC control terminal.

GPIO
Used for various control signals and status signal I/O.
For the PW-C950, the functions of [USB Host &Device] and [Ethernet] are added.

USB Host
Terminals for two systems are available.They are connected to IC3001 via the USB HUB (IC4005).
One system is used for a terminal exclusively for the wireless LAN unit.
The other one is used for the USB viewer.
*The USB VBUS (5V source) is limited by IC4006 (HI side switch). Each terminal is limited to 1A max.

USB Device
Used for the USB display functions. It is directly connected from the terminal (USB-B) to IC3001.

Ethernet
It is connected from the RJ-45 terminal to IC3001 via the PHY (IC4007).
It is not used for control only. The PC video data can also be transferred to the projector.
