Runtime error messages
For error messages related to canceling jobs and printing, including the Disk Full
message and alerts to load media, see the
. These messages are
reported by the job management tools.
You can turn on PostScript error reporting as a print option from Mac OS
applications.
Check power and cable
This message indicates that the interface cable between the E-820 and the copier is not
connected, or a print job is ready, but the copier is not turned on.
Printer not found
Most failures to find a printer on the network are due to conflicting or missing name or
address settings for the E-820. You must enter names in specific places. The required
names are:
• TCP/IP host name (also known as the DNS name), which is defined by your
organization.
Enter the host name as the Server Name in E-820 Setup.
• Remote printer (internal machine) name. Use one of the following:

Notify IPX (Novell)
Administrator.
Indicates other network errors when the
E-820 is already connected to a file server.
Something unexpected has happened and the
user generally cannot recover without
intervention of the network administrator.
Error #197 indicates that you have exceeded
the number of login attempts permitted for
this account on the NetWare file server.
Error #255 usually indicates a hard failure.
Notify the Novell administrator and report
the error number.
The error screen exits to the PServer Setup
screen.
