The pump suction must not exceed 4 metres;
beyond this value the pump becomes noisy.
The return valve must terminate at the same
level as the foot valve, otherwise the pump may
become air locked.
The dimension P should not exceed
4 metres to avoid damage to the
pump seals
The pump suction should not exceed a maximum of 4 metres. Beyond this limit
gas is released from the oil. Oil lines must be completely airtight. The return line
should terminate within the oil tank at the same level as the suction line; in this
case a non return valve is not required.
The return line should terminate within the oil tank at the same level as the suction
line; in this case a non return valve is not required. Should, however, the return line
terminate over the fuel level, a non return valve is essential. This solution, however, is
less safe than the previous one, due to the possibility of leakage in the valve.
Priming the pump: start the burner and await priming. Should lock-out prior to arrival
of the fuel, wait at least 20 seconds before repeating the operation.
