BROWSING FILES ON A USB STICK
Connect your prepared USB stick to THEC64, and then do one of the following to
browse the contents and see your compatible files:
Carousel mode:
From the HOME screen, select the USB stick icon on the far right
of the toolbar under the GAMES CAROUSEL to launch the
File
loader
.
Classic mode:
From BASIC, press
then highlight and select Media access.
Both the
File loader
and
Media access
options present a list of the first 256 folders
and compatible files stored in the current folder, displayed across the screen in
columns. If you have just connected the USB stick, then the current folder is always the
root of the USB stick.
Rather than show the filename extension (e.g.
d64
), icons appear before each file
to indicate their file type. To keep the list clear and uncluttered, filename flags
(explained later) are also not shown in the main files and folders list.
