Remote triggering
The remote trigger facility allows data to be captured by the calibration
software, upon receipt of a trigger signal generated remotely, for example,
from a machine under test�
The trigger signal is input via the auxiliary I/O port on the rear panel of the
XL laser� The XL laser supports two types of trigger signal – ‘slow trigger’
and ‘fast trigger’� These are accessed by two different pins on the auxiliary
I/O connector�
Fast trigger
The fast trigger mode provides a high-speed hardware trigger facility with a
short delay (< 1 µs) between the leading edge of the trigger input pulse and
the instant that the laser reading is recorded�
The fast trigger signal must be a clean, debounced TTL, CMOS or SSR signal
applied to the fast trigger pin on the auxiliary I/O connector, as shown in
Figure 1 opposite�
