Measurement considerations
Alignment
Correct alignment of the laser is essential to provide an accurate measurement�
Basic alignment rules are shown on the following pages; further alignment
steps for each measurement type are detailed in each section�
Environment
The environmental conditions during measurements will significantly
affect measurement accuracy� The factors below can introduce noise
and drift to measurements:

Thermal stability
•
Shock and vibration
•
Air turbulence
These should be reduced or eliminated where possible before commencing�
