Loading a
broken down ZOE on a tow dolly type vehicle.

This towing configuration is forbidden for ZOE vehicles that have been
damaged in an accident

Make sure no-one is in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle during the loading operations.

Position the recovery vehicle as close to and in line with the vehicle to be recovered and proceed as
follows:
o
Comply with the recommended recovery configurations shown above
o
Deploy the arm as close as possible to the broken down vehicle
o
To facilitate the movement of a broken down vehicle with jammed wheels, use a jack to raise
the vehicle and place it on one or more dollies
o
Adapt the front mobile pins of the left and right dollys to match the diameter of the vehicle's
wheels.
o
Adjust the space between the two tow dolly forks according to the track width of the vehicle
being loaded, and respecting the recovery vehicle's centre line
o
Position the vehicle to be towed in the tow dolly
o
Raise the vehicle with the tow dolly and make sure that a distance remains between the
body of the arrow and the front of the vehicle being towed
o
Release the handbrake
o
Shift the gear level to N (neutral).
o
Set the steered wheels straight and in line with the recovery vehicle
o
Lock
the
steering
o
Remove the keys from the ignition
o
Place the keys outside the vehicle
o
Adjust the height of the tow dolly ready for transportation, ensuring that the ground clearance
is at least 350 mm (see illustration page 32).
o
Secure the broken down vehicle on the tow dolly (see illustration page
32)
o
Affix the legally required signs to the rear of the vehicle being recovered
