Aircraft Ground Handling and Servicing
8.13 Main Gear Servicing
The REMOS GX may be equipped either with a composite or with a steel main gear. As with the
fuselage, the main gear requires no regular servicing. The hydraulic hoses of the brake system are
located within the hollow gear legs on the fiberglass gear, or hidden from the strut covers on the steel
version. A visual check for scratches, cracks and tire condition has to be carried out prior to each flight.
Repair works to the fiberglass main gear must only be conducted by skilled and authorized persons. On
the steel version, no welding of any part of the whole assembly is allowed. In case of damage the
defective part must be replaced. Air pressure within the tires should be maintained at 29 to 34 psi. Please
also check slip marking on each wheel prior to every flight. With the steel main gear installed, you may
also operate the plane without the wheel fairings installed.
