10. Programming the speed controller
The speed controller is already programmed upon delivery. You can
re-programme it in a few steps. Reprogramming can be necessary
e.g. when the drive starts moving although the throttle (ill. 1, pos. 13)
on the remote control is in neutral position and the trim control cannot
be moved far enough to make proper adjustments.
The built-in electronic speed controller has a setup button (see circle
in the illustration to the right) which allows you to programme neutral
position as well as full throttle forward or backward drive for the throttle
of the remote control.
This setting has already been pre-programmed by the manufacturer.
If necessary, however, you can adjust the settings yourself.
For this purpose, proceed as follows:
• Place the vehicle so that the drive mechanism can move freely and the wheels do not touch the ground. Do not
touch the drive mechanism while programming!
• Switch on the remote control, connect the vehicle battery to the vehicle and switch on the vehicle (slide switch in
"ON" position).
• Let go of the throttle so that it is in neutral position and put the motor trim control in middle position (ill. 1, pos. 10).
The motor/drive might start running now.
• Quickly press the setup button on the speed controller.
• A beep is emitted and the LED on the speed controller flashes once. Neutral position is saved. The motor/drive is
now switched off. The speed controller is in programming mode.
• Now move the throttle to full-throttle forward drive (pull throttle towards the handle) and hold it there (the motor does
not start running because the speed controller is still in programming mode).
• Quickly press the setup button on the speed controller. Two beeps are emitted and the LED on the speed controller
flashes twice. Full-throttle forward position is saved.
• Move the throttle to full-throttle backward drive (push throttle away from the handle) and hold it there.
• Quickly press the setup button on the speed controller and let go of the throttle after a short while so that the throttle
goes back to neutral position, as otherwise the drive will start running.
• Three beeps are emitted and the LED on the speed controller flashes three times. Full-throttle backward position is
saved. Programming is finished and programming mode is exited.
• Carefully check the new adjustments to see if the vehicle now responds to the movements of the throttle on the
remote control as desired.
