Values for CLI Input Arguments
Table 5-8 lists the values for the input arguments in the CLI commands. Values for input arguments that are
shown in bold must be entered in the specified format.

The Ethernet management port is always port 1 in
slot 1.
Native ports are always ports 1 and 2 in slot 2.
MIC ports range from 3 to 14 in the left MIC slot
and 15 to 26 in the right MIC slot. For each type of
MIC, see Table 5-12 on page 5-13 for the range of
ports.

Note
The following notes apply to the flags displayed by the
show chassis
command:
•
The SmartEdge 100 router does not display the following flags: B, C, G, M, N, S, U, W, and X.
•
D—The default traffic card processes packets sent to it from the controller. For a description of
the functions of the default traffic card, see the “Card, Port, and Channel Operations” chapter in
the
Ports, Circuits, and Tunnels Operations Guide
for the SmartEdge OS.
•
H—The I/O carrier card is administratively shut down with the
shutdown
command (in card
configuration mode).
•
O—The I/O carrier card is placed in the ODD state with the
on-demand diagnostic
command
(in card configuration mode).
•
The I/O carrier card is ready (R flag) when the it has been initialized and the code for the PPAs
has been downloaded; it is up (U flag) when the PPAs on the I/O carrier card are registered with
the requisite NetBSD process.

• carrier—Traffic card functions on the circuit board; always reported for slot 2.
• xcrp—Controller functions on the circuit board; always reported for slot 1.
