Replacing the Battery
The
contains internal memories to store your waypoints, event
marks, vessel tracks, initial position, and other last used set-ups. A Lithium
battery back-up keeps this memory information intact even when the unit
is unplugged from the ship’s battery and carried home for storage.
The estimated life span of the battery is from three to five years. If the
battery
should
fail, the
memory
contents
will be lost. However, the
could still operate normally without the battery by input of all of the initial
position data and
information each time you use the unit. This
would be extremely inconvenient. To insure trouble free operation it is
suggested that the battery be replaced every three years with an exact
lithium battery.
The lithium battery is soldered onto the Processor PCB. It is recom-
mended that the battery be replaced by your authorized Raytheon dealer
or by the Raytheon Factory Service Center with an exact replacement
lithium battery type.
