Hardware Preparation and Installation 

Installing friction rail kit items 

Your friction rail kit package contains: 

•

 

Two pairs of rack rails (for the rack) 

•

 

Nut-and-bolt type screws and one pair of server latches

Attaching the fixing latches to the server 

Refer to the image below for the locations to attach the two fixing latches to the two sides of the server with four 
screws.

To attach the rack rails

Place the two front rail rack joints into the rear rail rack slots, as shown in the following figure. 

2.

 

Attach the front and rear rail racks with eight screws and nuts, as shown in the following figure. Do not 

secure the screws too tight so that you can still adjust the length of the rack rails to meet the depth of the 
server rack.
