4.4.1 Zero Gas Calibration
This procedure determines the zero point of the sensor
calibration curve. To perform zero gas calibration, the
calibration adapter, a gas bottle and a bottle of "zero" air.
(optional) are required. The "zero" air is clean dry air
without any organic vapor or impurities. If such an air
bottle is not available, any clean ambient air without
detectable contaminant can also be used. A charcoal filter
should be used if one is not sure of the ambient air’s purity.
The calibration adapter links up the sensor cap on the
ToxiRAE Unit to the gas bottle (see Figure 4.1).
