5.6. AUTO-OFF FUNCTION
The espresso machine is designed to turn off automatically if no button is pressed within 29 minutes.
6. CLEANING AND CARE
WARNING:
Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the power socket and allow it to
cool down completely.
WARNING:
Never immerse the appliance, power cord or plug in water or any liquid.
Never rinse them under the tap.
IMPORTANT:
Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp
objects or scouring pads to clean the appliance.
6.1. CLEANING

Empty the drip tray regularly during use.

Clean the appliance and accessories after each use.
■
Clean the water tank regularly to ensure clean water.
■
Remove and clean the drip tray, grid, portafilter, filter and water tank in warm soapy water with
a soft sponge. Dry thoroughly before reassembling.
■
Wipe all external surfaces with a soft cloth moistened with water or soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
6.2. DESCALING
To ensure the machine works efficiently, descale every 2 to 3 months or when all buttons light up
blinking to alert you to descale the machine.
Descaling procedure
1.
Use a commercially available descaler for espresso machines and follow the instructions on
the package.
2.
Fill the recommended amount of descaler in the water tank and fill the rest of the tank with tap
water up to the MAX level mark.
3.
Place a sufficiently large container under the group head.
4.
Press the On/Off button.
5.
When the On/Off button stops blinking, press the double-cup button to dispense the hot
descaling water.
6.
Press the steam button and wait until it stops blinking.
7.
Insert the steam wand into a jug half-filled with water. Turn the steam control knob anti-
clockwise for 2 minutes and then turn it off.
8.
Press the On/Off button to turn off the machine.
9.
Let the descaling solution sit in the espresso machine for 5 minutes.
10.
Press the On/Off button to turn on the machine.
11. Repeat steps 5 to 7 until the water tank is empty.
Tap water rinsing procedure
12.
Remove the water tank from the machine. Wash the water tank thoroughly with warm soapy
water using a soft sponge, and rinse well.
13.
Fill the water tank up with tap water up to the MAX level mark and reattach it to the machine.
14.
Press the On/Off button to turn on the machine.
15.
Repeat steps 5-7 until the water tank is empty.
Cancel the descaling warning

Simultaneously press and hold the single-cup button, double-cup button and steam button
for 3 seconds.
