Problem Possible cause Possible solution
The espresso machine does
not turn on.
The appliance is not plugged
into the wall socket.
Ensure the appliance
is plugged into the wall
socket and the plug is firmly
inserted.
There is no electricity. Check the power source.
The appliance is
overheating.
Turn the Steam Control
knob to “OFF” and unplug
the appliance from the wall
socket.
Let the appliance cool down
for at least 10 minutes. Plug
the appliance in and try
again.
Malfunction in the appliance. Unplug the appliance
and contact your nearest
authorised service centre to
arrange a repair.
The steam wand does not
produce froth.
The Steam button was not
pressed or is still blinking. /
The Steam Control knob is
in the off position.
Press the Steam button and
wait until the button stops
blinking.
Turn the Steam Control knob
anti-clockwise to turn on and
increase the steam in the
steam wand.
The jug is too large. Use a frothing jug that is
slim and tall enough, with
a diameter of at least 7 cm,
bearing in mind that the milk
will double in volume after
frothing.
Do not use a jug that is too
large or too small for the
amount of milk.
Skimmed milk was used. Use whole milk or semi-
skimmed milk.
