QIAxcel Connect Safety and Installation Guide 10/2021
Performing cartridge calibration
QIAxcel Gel Cartridges must be calibrated before they are used for the first time. Every new
cartridge requires an intensity calibration before the first sample analysis. The calibration
normalizes the intensities of each capillary by applying a factor for every subsequent run with
this cartridge. See the Calibrating a cartridge section in the
QIAxcel Connect System User
Manual
for more details.
1.
Open the
Calibration
tab of the
Service
environment. Here, click
Start Calibration
to launch
a calibration run.
Note
: The total running time for the calibration process is about 16 minutes.
2.
In the next dialog, confirm that the QX Intensity Calibration Marker is loaded. Optionally,
enter the lot ID (refer to Figure 11). Start the calibration by clicking
OK
.

3.
Once the calibration process is complete, calibration results are displayed next to the gel
image or in the electropherogram view (Figure 12). The result table shows the area, the
calibration factor, and the result (
Pass
or
Fail
) for each capillary channel.
