QIAxcel Connect Safety and Installation Guide 10/2021
Using a QIAxcel Kit
1.
Ensure all equipment and reagents are equilibrated to room temperature (15–25°C) before
use.
2.
Add 10 ml QX (HS) Wash Buffer to both reservoirs of the QX Cartridge Stand (provided
with the instrument) and cover with 2 ml mineral oil.
3.
Remove the QIAxcel Gel Cartridge from its packaging and carefully wipe off any soft gel
debris from the capillary tips using a soft tissue.
Note
: The QIAxcel Gel Cartridge is provided together with a smart key, which is used for
fully automatic cartridge detection. Do not remove the smart key from the cartridge.
4.
Remove the purge cap seal from the back of the QIAxcel Gel Cartridge (Figure 6) and
place it in the QX Cartridge Stand (Figure 7). Retain the purge port seal in case you need
to store the QIAxcel Gel Cartridge.
Note
: Use a soft tissue to wipe off any gel that may have leaked from the purge port.
Note
: Ensure that the capillary tips are submerged in QX Wash Buffer.
5.
Important
: Cartridges must be allowed to equilibrate at room temperature for at least 20
minutes prior to use. Place the gel cartridge in the QX Cartridge Stand, protected from
light with the QX Cartridge Stand Cover.
Note
: Incorrect cartridge handling or shorter equilibration times may cause damage to
your QIAxcel Connect instrument and could result in a loss of warranty.
