13.6.1 Instructions for safe use
To ensure the safe operation of the system, the following basic requirements must be met:
• Temperature at place of installation: b10°C and +40°C
• Maximum humidity at place of installation: 55%
• Limit value for dust content in ambient air: 10mg/m³
The SST-UL recirculation fan is used to extract and clean the exhaust air from hazardous material,
safety, chemical and gas cylinder cabinets. The device ventilates the cabinet depending on the
required air change rate, filters out hydrocarbons and indicates the current function by means of two
lamps each (RED = Error, GREEN = Service). The concentration of hazardous substances in the
exhaust air is shown in 25% steps. A concentration of 100% corresponds to the maximum load. The
DSA (dynamic saturation adjustment) function corrects the switching point according to the ambient air
quality. The device also has two potential-free outputs for these signals. It is suitable for extracting air
from cabinets as defined in EN 14470-1 and DIN 12925 Part 2 and conforms to the requirements of
TRbF 20, TRGS 510 and GefStoffV. The user is responsible for ensuring safe operation of the system
in accordance with TRbF 20 Section 15. The statutory limit values (TRGS 900 “Occupational exposure
limit values” and TRGS 903 “Biological limit values”) must be observed at the place of use.

Improper use could result in broken impellers, fatigue failures or fires due to sparks,
possibly leading to personal injury or material damage.
