1.1 General safety-related notes

The operating/installation manual must be constantly stored where the product is being used.

Legally prescribed safety notices are to be attached to places visible to the users.

All safety and hazard notices, as well as the name plate, must be kept in legible condition.

Use the product only when it's in proper condition.

Observe the technical data in our catalogue or data sheet for each product.

Improper use can impair the protection function.

The products must not be stored outdoors and must be protected from water, penetrating
moisture or splashing water. The products are not suitable for damp rooms.

Observe all of the instructions in this operating and installation manual.

Listing all of the valid regulations and directives would exceed the scope of this document. So
always check to see whether your system meets valid regulations.
1.2 Intended use

The products described in this operation/installation manual are built according to the latest
state of technology and recognized safety-related rules.

They may only be used:

as intended and
o
in flawless safety-related condition.

Any other use is considered improper. PROTECTO assumes no liability for damage and the
resulting consequential damage arising from this.
1.3 Functional testing, safety-related review, care, and maintenance
PROTECTO safety cabinets are safety-related systems.
Pursuant to sec. 4, para. 3 of the Workplaces Ordinance, ArbStättV, sec. 10 of the Ordinance on
Industrial Safety, and Trade Associations rule BGR 234, a technical expert must conduct at least one
annual safety-related inspection.
PROTECTO offers both individual inspections as well as maintenance agreements.
Daily inspection:

Liquids must be immediately collected and properly disposed of.
Monthly inspection:

Locking systems (cylinder lock)

Hinges

Door closers (if present)

Correct seating and condition of the fire-protection seals

Inside the exhaust and ventilation openings
