CHAPTER 4
4.20
•
When driving, comply with all road traffic regulations, indicate an intention to turn
by means of directional indicators, keep all lights and indicator lights clean at all
times and ensure they are in good condition. Any damaged or missing lamps or
indicator lights must be immediately repaired or replaced.
•
Avoid ruts, depressions, ditches or driving near roadside slopes. Driving across
such obstacles could cause the trailer or the tractor to tilt suddenly. This is very
important, as the center of gravity of a loaded trailer shifts upwards (especially
a high volume load), which reduces the driving safety. Driving near ditches or
channels is dangerous as there is a risk that the slope will collapse under the
weight of the trailer or a tractor.
•
Speed must be sufficiently reduced before making a turn or driving on an uneven
road or a slope.
•
When driving, avoid sharp turns especially on slopes.
ATTENTION
Prior to moving off with the trailer hitched, check if:
•
pins connecting the loading case with the lower frame are secured against
falling out,
•
lug pins of extensions are secured against falling out.
Passing over ruts, ditches and driving through slopes etc. with a volumetric load
constitutes a great risk of overturning the trailer. Exercise particular caution.
•
Remember that the braking distance of the set of vehicles increases as the weight
of load and driving speed increase.
•
Control the trailer movement when driving on uneven ground and select the
speed according to the road and terrain conditions.
4.6
UNLOADING
The trailer is equipped with a hydraulic tipping system. A suitable structure of the frame and
the loading case allows tipping the loading case both sideways and to the rear. Tipping of the
loading case is controlled by means of tractor's external hydraulic system distributor.
