Switches to VFD Frequency Mode
Pump enters sleep mode at this flow rate.
Time between when flow reaches the Sleep
Flow rate and sleep mode is activated.
System starts the pumps when the
discharge pressure reaches this value.
Pump enters sleep mode when VFD
frequency/pump speed reaches this rate.
Time between sleep frequency detection
and sleep mode activation.
About Pump Sleep Mode
The main (Lead) pump and
Pony (Jockey) pumps enter
sleep mode when the PSI Setpoint is reached and demand (flow)
stops. There are two modes of determining demand:
1) Flow Mode (Preferred Method) The controller measures
demand using either a flow switch or flow sensor.
• A Flow Switch can only detect fluid movement. It cannot mea-
sure the rate of flow. It provides two signals to the controller:
0: Water is not flowing.
1: Water is flowing.
For this reason, the Sleep Flow setting should be set to 0.
• A Flow Sensor measures the flow rate in GPM. The Sleep
Flow setting for each system will vary by application and
pump performance range.
2) VFD Frequency Mode. The controller measures demand
using the VFD frequency (pump speed). The sleep frequency
setting will vary by application, but typical ranges are
between 32 – 50 Hz.

The lag pump starts when the difference
between the pressure setpoint and
discharge pressure reaches this value.
Time between Start PSI deviation and lag
pump start.
Lag pump stops when the system pressure
setpoint is reached and the flow rate
reaches this value.
Time between when the Lag Stop Flow rate
occurs and the lag pump is stopped.
The lag pump starts when the lead VFD
frequency reaches this value, after the lag
start delay time has passed.
The lag pump stops when the lead VFD
frequency reaches this value, after the lag
stop delay time.
Time between Lag Start Frequency
detection and the lag pump is started.

About Lag Settings
The controller starts and
stops Lag pumps based on
demand. It can use two different modes to determine demand:
1) Pressure & Flow or 2) VFD Frequency.
NOTE: Requires Flow Meter
Start Mode - PSI Deviation. The controller starts the lag pump
if the duty pump is running and the discharge pressure is too
far below the PSI Setpoint.
Stop Mode – Minimum Flow Rate. The controller stops the lag
pump when the system pressure setpoint is reached and the
flow rate reaches this value.
