Using the RF communications function
With this r eceive r , two-way communications between the
r eceive r and r emote cont r ol a r e p ossible by connecting
the included RF ada p te r to the RS-232C and CU-RF100
te r minals. Fo r inst r uctions on connecting the RF ada p te r ,
see Connecting the RF adapter (SC-37 only) on p age 21.
Two-way communications allow you to use the following
functions:
• The r eceive r can be o p e r ated by p ointing the r emote
cont r ol in any di r ection (360°) (maximum line-of-sight
distance fo r two-way communications: about 10
mete r s).
• O p e r ate is p ossible without being affected by
obstacles (even pr oducts in r acks can be o p e r ated).
• The info r mation shown on the r eceive r ’s dis p lay can
be dis p layed on the r emote cont r ol’s dis p lay as you
o p e r ate.
• RF communications can be used to o p e r ate u p to 4
othe r com p onents connected to the r eceive r (using
the included IR blaste r . Fo r details, see Operating
other components by RF communications on
p age 92).
• The r emote cont r ol in p ut dis p lay names can be
synch r onized with the in p ut names changed at Input
Name on the r eceive r ’s Input Setup menu ( p age 45)
and acqui r ed automatically. Fo r details, see
Renaming input function names in synchrony with
the receiver
on p age 93.
• When the r eceive r ’s in p ut is switched, the r emote
cont r ol’s dis p lay and o p e r ating mode switch to that
in p ut automatically. Fo r details, see Setting the
remote control operation mode on p age 94.
Important
• The line-of-sight communications distance is a r ough
indication, and may diffe r acco r ding to the
su rr ounding envi r onment.
• De p ending on the communications envi r onment,
functions using two-way communications between
the
r eceive r and r emote cont r ol may not o p e r ate
pr o p e r ly. Fo r details, including cautions on the
