To aid in debugging, outputs can be forced ON or OFF.
Use the
or
key to highlight the desired output. Press the <OK> key to display the
available force options.

Force output options
Press the number key that corresponds to Unforce, Force ON, or Force OFF to select the
desired state.
Two additional options are available for configuration from the force output screen.
Pulse/Flash Time - An existing pulse or flash time can be modified for a specified output. A
pulse allows an output to be ON for a specified time and then returns to OFF. A flash time
cycles the output ON and OFF at the specified frequency.
The format of the output value defaults to the value previously selected in nanoNavigator in
the format. The format possibilities are:
Press 3 to enter an Output/Flash value, and press the <OK> key.
Figure 5-20
Entering an Output/Flash Time
Set as Retentive – When an output is set as retentive, it stores the current state in memory
in the event of a power failure. When power is restored, the stored state is recalled and the
output placed in that state.
Only the available options in the current state are displayed. For example, if the output
state is Force OFF, only Unforce and Force ON are displayed when the output force
screen is accessed again.
When a force is removed, the status remains in the forced state unless changed by the
control application logic.
The pulse/flash time may be configured for the data item. However, the control must call
the pulse/flash for it to be visible. For example, an output may cause a light to flash under
one condition and illuminate steady-state under another condition. In this case, the data
item has a flash time defined, but it is only called under one condition.
