096 Sporadic parity errors – Sporadically, parity errors occur
on the serial interface.
Check the wiring of the serial inter-
face. If the serial data line is rela-
tively long compared to the used
data rate, or the quality of the line is
not good, reduce the serial data
rate.
096 Sporadic stop bit errors – Data packets contain sporadic
stop bits errors.

tively long compared to the used
data rate, or the quality of the line is
not good, reduce the serial data

097 Sporadic protocol viola-
tions
– Sporadically there are long peri-
ods of "zeros" on the serial inter-
face.
Possible cause:
– the serial data rate may be
configured wrong
– there may be a short circuit on
the serial data line
– a driver of a device connected
to the serial port may be de-
fective.
– Check the device configurati-
on (serial data rate correct?)
– Check the installation of the
serial interface.
– If the serial data line is relative-
ly long compared to the used
data rate, or the line quality is
not good, if applicable reduce
the serial data rate
098 Sporadic noise – Possible cause:
– the serial data rate may be
configured wrong
– there may be a short circuit on
the serial data line
– a driver of a device connected
to the serial port may be de-
fective.
