Lifting the Spotlight Imaging System
WARNING
The imager and spectrometer are heavy precision instruments, so two
people are required for safe handling.
Consult the local codes of practice issued by safety advisors before
attempting to lift these instruments.
Take care not to injure yourself or others, or to drop the instruments.
Do not move the imaging system after it has been installed without consulting your local
PerkinElmer service department.
It is necessary to separate the imager from the spectrometer before lifting either instrument.
If you have a dual-range imaging system, where a filter box is fitted between the imager and
the spectrometer, it is necessary to remove the filter box before separating the imager from
the spectrometer.
The imager weighs approximately 35 kg including the motorized stage (approximately 76 kg
with packaging).
•
Lift the imager only by the base.
•
Do not attempt to lift the imager by the stage, cassegrain assembly or other
attachments.
The spectrometer weighs approximately 34 kg unpacked (40 kg packed) and has a lifting
recess on either side.
