5 • Routed application using RIP
6. IPCP Restart—Use default. The Restart timer is used to time transmissions of Configure-Request and Ter-
minate-Request packets. Expiration of the Restart timer causes a Timeout event, and retransmission of the
corresponding Configure-Request or Terminate-Request packet. IPCP Restart should use the default of
three seconds.
7. Click on the
Submit
button at the bottom of the screen once all settings have been entered.
RIP configuration
1. Click on the
Routing—RIP
menu option in the
Configuration Menu
pane to display the
Routing - RIP
con-
figuration page (See
figure 41
)
2. The RIP page allows configuring options for General (global) and Network options.

General
The General configuration window offers the following configuration options:
1. Enable RIP Routing—Check this box to enable RIP
2. RIP all Networks—Check to RIP all networks attached to the 3224 or 3081RC
3. Rip Version—Select version 2
4. Announce Default Route—Check this box to allow the 3224/6081RC to announce default route.
