Modifying the IP address for Ethernet interface A (optional)
You may wish to connect Ethernet Port A to the LAN in order to enable remote management and multiple
operator capabilities described below:
•
Remote management
—You can log in to Ethernet port A remotely using any workstation connected to the
LAN and standard HTTP browser.
•
Multiple operators
—Two or more operators can manage the Model 3224 or Model 6081RC, at the same
time or at different times, using multiple workstations on the LAN.
Before connecting Ethernet Port A to the LAN, you must first assign an IP address to Ethernet Port A that has
the same network number as the LAN. To modify the IP address, do the following:
1. On the menu pane at the left side of the web management home page (see
figure 15
), click the Interface
hyperlink. The
Interface Configuration
window will appear (see
figure 17
).

2. Use the drop down menu to select Ethernet A. Enter the new IP address for Ethernet A in the
IP Address
field for Interface A. The new IP address must have the same network number as the Ethernet LAN to
which you intend to connect Interface A.
3. In the
NetMask
field for Interface A, enter the netmask for the new IP address you have chosen.
