24.1 UM Configuration—[5-1] System Parameters
Mailbox Group
Also called System Group Distribution Lists. Mailbox Groups allow a caller or subscriber to record a message
and have it sent to several mailboxes. Messages sent to a Mailbox Group are sent to all subscribers in the
group. The system can maintain a maximum of 20 Mailbox Groups. Each group can have a maximum of 200
members. For Personal Group Distribution Lists, see
20.1.2 UM Configuration—[1-2] Mailbox

Follow the steps below to create or edit a Mailbox Group.
Adding Mailbox Groups
1.
Specify the
Group List No.
and
Group Name
for each Mailbox Group to be used.
2.
Click
OK
.
Editing Mailboxes
To edit a mailbox group, select the desired mailbox group, then click the
icon. You can also edit specific
parameters directly from the Mailbox Group list.
Deleting Mailboxes
1.
Select a mailbox group.
2.
Click the icon.
3.
Click
Yes
.
Adding Mailboxes to a Group
1.
In the
Group Members
column, click the
Edit
button of the group to add mailboxes to.
2.
In the
Subscribers To Add
column, select the check boxes for the mailbox numbers to add to the group.

Click
Add
.
4.
Click
OK
.
5.
Click
OK
.
Recording a Name for the Group in the Edit Mailbox Group dialog box
1.
Select the desired Mailbox Group and click the
icon.
Note
Before you can record, confirm that there is at least 1 member in the group and that you have clicked
Apply
since adding members to the group.
2.
Select "Record from extension" or "Import from recorded file". When "Record from extension" is selected:
1.
Specify the extension number of the telephone used for recording, then click
Connect
.
2.
When the specified extension rings, go off-hook.
3.
Click
Record
,
Play
, or
Stop
to record or play a voice label through the extension.
4.
Click
Disconnect
.
5.
Click
OK
.
When "Import from recorded file" is selected:
1.
Click the folder icon.
The
Open
dialog box appears.
2.
Navigate to the folder containing the WAV files you want to open.
WAV files must meet the following specifications:

G.711 PCM codec
–
8 kHz, 8-bit sampling rate
–
Monaural
–
A-law or µ-law encoding
