Dealing with Problems
Read this section if your computer is not operating properly. Note that some prob-
lems may be caused by the software in your system. If you are ultimately unable to
correct a problem, consult your nearest Panasonic dealer.
Startup
Is the AC adapter plugged into the power supply connector of the computer and
an AC outlet?
Is the battery pack sufficiently charged and mounted correctly?
Does the computer operate normally after it has been restarted by pressing the
reset button?
Power does not come on.
Nothing appears on the display
screen.
Can't remember password.
If the low power consumption function has caused the display to dim, pressing
the space bar will restore it.
Have you selected an external display using the Setup utility?
Adjust screen brightness. (

"Post Start Up Error(s)" is dis-
played.
Memory counting speed is very
slow.
Windows start up and processing
speed is very slow.
Run "Load Default Settings (PnP)" in the Setup utility. This will restore the Setup
utility's settings to their default values (except the password settings), then the Setup
utility must be run once again for you to input the appropriate operating environment
settings. (The processing speed depends on the application software used, so this op-
eration may not cause the processing speed to increase.)
During operation
Date or time display is in-
correct.
Use [Control Panel] in Windows 95 or the DATE and TIME commands in the
MS-DOS mode to set the date/time to their proper values. If problems persist,
consult your nearest Panasonic dealer.
The clock battery (lithium battery) may be running low on power. Consult your
nearest Panasonic dealer.
Computer stops working.
Red battery indicator lights.
Repeated beeps sound while
the computer is in use.
Red battery indicator lights
and a beep sounds.
Red battery indicator flashes on
and off.
Are the AC adapter and battery pack both correctly connected? If the red indicator
flashes even after reconnecting them, consult your nearest Panasonic dealer.
If you are running the computer off the battery pack, the battery may be out of
power. Connect the AC adapter.
The battery power is low. Save your data and turn off the computer, and then replace
or recharge the battery pack.
The battery indicator remains
red for a long time.
Fully charge the battery pack, switch on the computer, disconnect the AC adapter,
and allow the battery pack to discharge completely.
The CPU processing speed will slow automatically to protect the CPU from over-
heating. The CPU will return to its normal processing speed once it has cooled.
The POWER indicator becomes
orange and the CPU processing
speed drops.
The battery temperature has risen due to the electrical discharge caused by a large
load. Connect the AC adapter, set the power-saving function, and turn down the
brightness of the display.
