Chapter 5 Shooting — Adjustable settings when shooting
Auto focusing
Performs automatic focusing while the <PUSH AUTO> button is pressed during manual focus mode.
Manual focus assist mode
You can switch from the manual focus mode to the manual focus assist mode by setting the [CAMERA] menu
→
[SW MODE]
→
[MF ASSIST]
→
[ON].

Compared to the manual focus mode, you can adjust the focus (course adjustment) by rotating the focus ring approximately a half-turn.
f
After adjusting with the focus ring, the focus is automatically adjusted (fine adjustment).
f
When the focus deviation is great, it may not be in focus.
f
After executing auto adjustment, it will not adjust automatically until you move the focus ring again.
Area mode function
Touch the subject to apply various effects tailored to the subject that is touched.
f
Area auto focus function
Adjusts the focus automatically tailored to the subject that is touched.
f
Area auto iris level function
Adjusts the iris automatically tailored to the subject that is touched.
f
Area brightness display
Displays the luminance level of the subject that is touched.
Operation function settings
Sets the operation to be assigned to the area mode function from the [CAMERA] menu.

Does not assign a function.

Sets the area focus function

Operation of area mode function
The function set in the [CAMERA] menu

[AREA MODE] can be used by performing the following operation when shooting or while in
shooting standby.

Press the USER button to which the function set in the [CAMERA] menu
→
[SW MODE]
→
[AREA MODE] is assigned or touch the
USER button icon.

The area frame is displayed, and the
is displayed on the right side of the screen.

When the area brightness display is activated, the brightness display in the center does not operate.

Touch the shooting screen.
f
The area frame is displayed in the area that is touched to apply the effects set in the menu.

Press the USER button or the USER button icon again.
f
The area frame disappears and the camera exits the area mode function.

The area mode function is cancelled when the power is turned off or when the thumbnail screen is displayed.
