Replace the Air Filter
There is one air filter located on the right of the chassis (intake side). This filter should be inspected on
a periodic basis and can be pulled out and inserted without setting off any alarms. A dirty air filter
restricts airflow in the unit, reducing the ventilation and effective cooling of the system. To maintain
optimum system operation, Palo Alto Networks recommends that you replace the filter every six
months. Discard used filters; do not attempt to clean and reuse them. You can purchase replacement air
filters from Palo Alto Networks or an authorized reseller.
It is not necessary to power off the chassis to replace the air filter and there are no logs or LED
indicators that will show that a filter has been removed or that it needs cleaning.
To replace the air filter:
1.
Grasp both air filter handles and gently pull the air filter out to unsnap it from the mount point
located at the back of the filter. The filter tray is not fastened with any screws or levers.
2.
Pull the filter completely away from the chassis as shown in Figure 29.
