Replace an AMC/Disk Drive

Install the new AMC/Disk drive by gently sliding the drive into the AMC slot and then push the
release handle all the way in to lock the AMC in place.

To add the new drive to the RAID 1 pair, run
request system raid slot 8 add
diskname
. For example, if A2 drive failed in the A1/A2 pair and you installed a new drive for
A2, run
request system raid slot 8 add A2.
A reboot of the system would also add
the drive automatically. If you are replacing a functioning drive, the drive must be removed first by
running
request system raid slot 8 remove
diskname
.

The new drive will automatically be mirrored with the other drive in the RAID 1 pair and the
mirror operation will be completed in a few hours. To check the status of the RAID, run the
command:
show system raid detail
.
