Also, any dead volumes should be eliminated as best as possible. Dead volumes in the sample system
will also cause a lag in response.
2.2
Installation Procedures
1. Inspect the instrument for any obvious damages from shipping.
a. Check for dents and broken components.
b. Check that all components are firmly held in place.
c. Check all gas fittings for proper tightness.
2. Determine where the instrument is to be located and secure it in place. If components are to be
stacked, the detector module should be located below the furnace module. Locate the scrubber tube
and mount it vertically near the analyzer.
2.2.1
Gas Fittings
Perform the following steps to install gas fittings.

Compression Fittings
1. Insert tubing through nut.
2. Slide ferrule set over tubing.
3. Insert tubing with ferrule set until tubing bottoms in fitting.

Secure nut finger tight plus ¾ turn for ⅛” tube and 1¼ turn for ¼” tube.

Gas Connections
Refer to Figure 1 for the correct method for installing compression fittings.
All regulators used in this installation should be clean and free of any cleaning solvent. Purge all gas lines with
clean, dry gas before connecting to the instrument.
1. Connect oxygen, zero gas, span gas and sample lines to their respective fittings on the back of the
furnace module.
2.
Connect “Sample to Detector” fitting on the back of the furnace module to the “Detector In” fitting on
the detector module with 1/8” Teflon
®
tubing, following figure.
