8. Move the Pinch Roller Lever or Feed Roller Lever in the arrow indicating direction to remove the
jammed media.
9. After removing the jammed media, clean the Print Head and Platen, Pinch Roller, and Feed
Rollers. Then remove any further dust or foreign substances. (Refer to Section 4.1, Cleaning.)
10. Fit the Plates A, B (CP-1002 only), and C in position.
NOTE
: For the CP-1001 series, fit the Plate A prior to Plate C. For the CP-1002 series, fit the Plate B
last.
5.4 When the Ribbon Has Broken
If the ribbon breaks before it has been used up, fix it with adhesive tape in the following procedure.
However, it is better to replace it with a new ribbon.
1. Open the Top Cover fully.
2. Turn the Head Lever to
OPEN
position, and then pull out the Ribbon Module.
3. Remove the ribbon from the Ribbon Module.
4. Cut away the broken part and make the cut ends straight.

1. When opening the Top Cover, be sure to fully open it. Failure to do this may cause the Top
Cover to close by itself, resulting in injury.
2. Do not touch the Print Head and around it immediately after printing. As this may cause you to
burn.
