2.1.4.4 Program 4: VarioControl
Control with: One electrode or one linear control element
With this program, the opening speed is determined by the level and speed of the muscle con
traction. The closing speed depends on the reduction of muscle tension. FlexiGrip takes effect
starting at the maximum gripping force. When there is no longer a load, the SensorHand Speed
grips with the previous gripping force again.
Control with one electrode
Opening:
Proportional. The opening speed is determined by the speed and strength of the
muscle contraction.
Closing:
Proportional. The closing speed is determined by the speed and strength with
which the muscles are relaxed. This also specifies the level of the maximum grip
ping force readjustment.
Stopping:
Relaxing the muscles very slowly via the electrode causes the hand to stop in the
open position.
Example 1:
After opening, relax the muscle at slow speed. The hand is closed analogue to the
duration of muscle relaxation, at slow speed. The object is gripped with low force
(10 N). There is no automatic gripping force readjustment.
Example 2:
After opening, relax the muscle at the fastest speed. The hand closes automatically
at the fastest speed and starts grasping the object with a gripping force of 10 N.
When the sensors recognise that the position of the object is changing, a readjust
ment is automatically performed up to the maximum gripping force (130 N) as
needed.
