Attention!
The EBS unit has an overturn protection. When increasing the resistance (rotation to
the right in + direction), do not forcibly turn beyond the point where it becomes more
difficult to turn!
If the maximally adjustable resistance of the EBS unit is insufficient (knee flexion too
easy), possibly tip the joint forward (see Section 4.3.2.1), but be aware that knee sta-
bility is reduced by this measure.
Notice:
The round spring of the EBS unit must be adjusted so that the pivoting mount does not
permanently move into end position.
4.3.2.3 Adjusting the swing phase
The hydraulic swing phase control ensures a smooth gait. Movement resistances prevent the
prosthetic lower leg from swinging too far when flexing and guarantee dampened extension. Along
with the patient‘s habits, the foot weight and the length of the lower leg, which have a pendular
weight, also have an influence on his or her gait.
Before changing the factory settings, the following guidelines must be observed:
• Upon delivery, the valve screws are set to the lowest resistance for extension damping. For
flexion damping, a medium setting has been chosen.
• The flexion and extension resistances can be independently adjusted using the 710H10=2×3
Adjustment Wrench provided.
