Name: enter the accounts user name
Email: only required for sending results by email to a specific user’s email
address. See chapter 4.3.6 on Email Settings.
Require password: select whether or not for this account a password is required
upon login. Setting a password is done during the first login attempt after the
user account is created. To change a password for an account, the “require
password” button must be switched off and on again, and the login / password
setting procedure must be repeated. In case the only user account with admin
access forgets the password, there is always the possibility of a “Service level”
login. This requires entering a password only known by the distributor and
manufacturer.
NOTE: A new instrument might not contain any user accounts. In such case, the
default user account in the login page is “Open user” and will not require a
password.
Preferred format: indicates the format in which the results should be sent (to
the folder set in “LIMS Settings”): either PDF or XML format. If set to SYSTEM,
the format will be the same as the default format set in LIMS settings.
However, for each individual user it is possible to choose a format that is
different from the format set in “LIMS Settings”.
4.3.4 Printer settings
Connected printers are found and displayed automatically. If not found
automatically, press the search symbol. Select the desired printer by activating
the blue button.
4.3.5 LIMS Settings
Results can be saved in a folder on an external pc that is set up as an FTP
server (requires connecting the instrument with a RJ45 (LAN) cable to that pc).
The LIMS system will import the files from this folder. Different LIMS systems
have different ways of importing files from a folder, hence this is not described
in this manual; it is assumed that the user’s IT department is equipped for this
task.
