3. In the iLab app (in Tasks Menu, see Chapter 1.2.8-d) the unit should now
say “Idle”. (image 8)
- Alternatively, it might say “Preparing”, which means
that the ColdBlock is now building a buffer for high cooling performance. This
status may take up to 10 minutes, after which “Idle” will appear
.
In case it
says “Offline”, check whether the iPad’s WiFi is connected to the AirSTAR’s
network (name is Bath”xxx”, password orbisdraadloospw). Or see
Troubleshooting (Chapter 10).
4. Press “Precool” to prepare the cooling bath. It commands the bath jacket to
go to the first cooling step. NOTE: this function assumes you will use the
same CFPP method as with the previous CFPP test. In case a different
method will be used, execute step 10 first.
5. Sample preparation: Take CFPP Head in one hand and detach jar with other
hand (vice versa as described in Chapter 1.3.7). During filling the jar with
sample, place the CFPP Head back in the ColdBlock or Docking station.
6. Fill jar with sample up to the ring mark.
7. Re-attach jar in CFPP Head (as described in Chapter 1.3.7).
8. Place CFPP Head in ColdBlock.
9. Press the Sample ID field and enter sample ID. (Tip 1: press the “X” to
quickly remove the old sample ID). (Tip 2: it is possible to change the
sample ID during the entire test, but not after the test has finished).
10.
Press+Hold the Method field and select the desired method. Note that by
default the last used method will be selected for the next test. No need to
change this method when continuously working with the same method.
11.
It is now time to start the test. Depending on the “Start at” temperature
that is set in the method settings (image 9), pressing the “play” button will
either command the instrument to:
- start the test at “START” (which indicates ambient temperature): the first
aspiration will be made at the first whole degree lower than the room
temperature of the sample (example: sample temperature at start is 21.7 ºC
> first aspiration made at 20 ºC.)
