Transmitting a Test Ack Call
Testing on the dedicated DSC distress and safety calling channels
should be avoided as much as possible by using other methods. When
testing on the distress/safety channel is unavoidable, it should be
indicated that these are test transmissions. Normally the test call would
require no further communications between the two stations involved.
1. Press [MENU] to enter the DSC menu.
2. Press [▲] or [▼] to select “TEST CALL”, then press [ENT].
3. Press [▲] or [▼] to select a desired pre-programmed individual
address or “MANUAL INPUT”, then press [ENT].

4. Channel 70 is automatically selected and “READY” appears in the
channel comment display.
5. Press [ENT] to transmit the test call. If Channel 70 is busy, the
transceiver stands by until the channel becomes clear.
6. After te test call has been transmitted, return to normal operation.
When a Test call is received:
1. “DSC” appears and “RCV TEST CALL” scrolls in the channel
comment display.
2. The beeps sound. Press [CLR] to stop the beeps.
3. Press [ENT] to reply the call, or press [CLR] to ignore the call.
Transmit a Test Acknowledgement call when a Test call is received.
1. Press [MENU] to enter the DSC menu.
2. Press [▲] or [▼] to select “TEST ACK”, then press [ENT].
“TEST ACK” appears after receiving a Test call.
