Attach the case connector to the Ext-Batt.-IN terminal on the drum unit.

TIP:

l

Be sure to recharge the external battery before using it for the first time after purchase or
after it has not been used for a long period.

l

In general, the external battery performance is degraded temporarily as the ambient
temperature drops. Note that the external battery performance degraded due to the low
temperature recovers when the temperature rises to a normal level.

l

It is recommended to prepare multiple spare external batteries if long hours of battery-
powered operations are expected.

l

The external battery cannot be charged with this instrument. For procedures to charge the
external battery, refer to the instruction manual provided with the external battery charger.

l

The external battery is a consumable item.

Removing the external battery

1.

Disconnect the cable of the external battery case from the Ext-Batt.-IN terminal on the
drum unit.

2.

Open the latch of the case and remove the external batteries (8 units) from the case.
