FRQ1 TRACK
(frequency 1 tracking)
The
FRQ1 TRACK
(frequency 1 tracking) parameter is set to
OFF
by default. To
change the
FRQ1 TRACK
setting, press the MAIN menu key (
) followed by
the A key, and then rotate the knob to the desired frequency 1 tracking value. This
control is only available when the display is set to
SPEC+XY
or
SPECTRUM
, and
it is easier to work with in the
SPEC+XY
RUN. To properly adjust the
FRQ1
TRACK
setting:
1.
Scan a patch of good material, and adjust gain as needed to avoid signal
saturation.
2.
Scan over the bad area, and observe the
SPECTRUM
view.
3.
Locate the area where there seems to be the greatest difference between the
results of the scan over the good area and the scan over the bad area. Move
the
FRQ1 TRACK
marker to this position.
FRQ2 TRACK
(frequency 2 tracking)
The
FRQ2 TRACK
(frequency 2 tracking) parameter is set to OFF by default. To
change the
FRQ2 TRACK
setting, press the MAIN menu key (
) followed by
the B key, and then rotate the knob to the desired frequency 2 tracking value. This
control is only available when the display is set to
SPEC+XY
or
SPECTRUM
, and
it is easier to work with in the
SPEC+XY
RUN. To properly adjust the
FRQ2
TRACK
setting:
1.
Scan a patch of good material, and adjust gain as needed to avoid signal
saturation.
2.
Scan over the bad area, and observe the
SPECTRUM
view.
Locate the area where there seems to be the greatest difference between the
results of the scan over the good area and the scan over the bad area. Move
the
FRQ2 TRACK
marker to this position.
The frequency tracking function is used to develop applications and create
procedures. This function tracks up to two user-defined frequencies and displays a
persistent trace in the XY plane, recording the position of a given frequency from the
pitch-catch swept signal. The frequency tracking function only works in pitch-catch
mode. Typically, this function works best with the
SWEPT RATE
set to
LOW
, and by
narrowing the
START
and
END
frequency range of the swept figure to the range of
frequencies that are of interest.
