Flip completed rafter section over so that
soffit is facing the ground. Locate first row of
3/4” thick x 3 1/2” wide Roof Battens
(2 pcs. - 49 1/2” long / 1 /” wide pc. 45 3/8”).
Start with outside 49 1/2” and place 1/8” back
from end of rafter.

Attach 49 1/2” long batten
with 2 - 1 1/4” screws. Center of
double rafter and secure both
ends. Pre-drill with 1/8” drill bit first
to prevent ends from splitting.

Attach 45 3/8” middle batten and
remaining 49 1/2” outside batten with
1 1/4” screws to complete the first row of
battens.
